Nike Victory Red Tour Driver & Project X Graphite Shaft

I was thinking of giving the Nike Victory Red Tour Driver with the 6.0 Project X Graphite Shaft a try.

Has anybody giving this combo a try? Any Feedback?

I am one who usually fits between a stiff and x-stiff shaft, so I figured the 6.0 would be good.

I have project X 6.0's hardstepped (6.3) in a back up set of irons and hit them well.

Never really tried a Nike Driver.

Any thoughts or feedback?

I answered my own question. went to a golf galaxy at hit a 9.5 stiff, my spin was on average 3400-3600, way to much.

9.5 taylormade burner superfast tp, stiff matrix hd6, spin rate on average was 2600, much better

average swing speed was 105, so no more x-stiff for me.

That's interesting because I too had higher spin rate in the simulator at Golfsmith. But on the course, this things is a cannon. Clearly low spin on the course. Lots of roll and really long drives. I was worried after the LM numbers, but am thrilled with the on course performance.

I swing around 105mph. I got the 6.0 in 9.5*. I've hit a bunch of drives over 3 bills in just the few rounds I've played with it. About 10 yards longer than my Ft-9 carry and more on the roll.

wow, now i have to think twice, i loved the sound and feel of the nike.

I wish I could try one out on the course.

what kind of spin numbers were you getting on the launch monitor?

At GG in their simulator I was getting 14-16 degrees launch and 3600-4000 RPM's spin. Out on the course, I tried rlheiman's and the launch was not that high and 3 bills was pretty easy to come by. I swing about 114 and use X flex normally. I'd love to try this with the PX 6.5, but I think I'd stick with the 9.5 after seeing the flight outdoors. 6.0 was just a tad soft for me, but not bad at all. I play the 6.5's in my irons.

I was getting 3600-4400 on the LM. I couldn't believe it. PX shaft and the head were supposed to be low spin. I almost didn't give it a try. I was hitting a couple other clubs on the LM and was down around 3000. So I was confused, but on the course, like i said above, I'm rocking this driver. I wish I could get some LM numbers on the course, because I can't believe my spin numbers are anywhere near that high.

There is no real demo until you play it on a course. Launch monitors to me are just guesses by a computer. If you want to know how a club plays you need to go to the course and play it. The golf shops (usually with some collateral) will let you taake the clubs from the store and play them. I have the VR tour with a PX 6.5 and it is a bomber. Mid launch and no spin. To each his own though. Good luck with you next driver hope this helps.

I have always wondered how accurate Launch Monitors really are, Im hoping the the nike driver will be money, because the looks, sound, and feel were excellent for me.
