I swing at 100 to 107 with the driver. I have a freakish amount of spin, no matter what driver with what shaft, I can spin it over 4000 if i want too. I play to a 6 ghin and for me i have to be able to putt a ball first before I hit the driver with it. I have found the b330 has been the best ball for me over the last few years driver spin is about 2800, used to be pro v1x 3100. Anyway, In recent years, i haven't liked callaway balls because they felt light and made strange stuff with the putter. However i tried the new IZ the other day, and it feels like they brought the weight up to a normal feel. It putts and chips great, and is long off the driver.

I think I found a new ball in the iz, what do you guys think of them, tell me about you and your swing too, how does the ball fit you.

I just got a dozen of these so next week, I'll try them out.

Now - how did the iz do for durability for you, did they go 18 holes with normal wedges?

I just bought a box and used them one round. I was putting really well with them and like them. I am a pro v1x guy (110+ driver swing speed). I never used Callaway balls before because they didn't have putting lines on them when I last used them a long time ago. They did scuff up easily but I also had brand new CG15 wedges and half a range ball is left on the face after a full swing.

I was fitted to that ball by Golf Galaxy. It has been great. I still bounce back and forth between that and the ProV1x sometimes, but the Cally is the best for me.

I realy dont have anything bad to say about the iz long and just enough spin for me. I guess the only down fall is my nike wedges eat them up!

Played a round with the i(z). Firstly, definitely not a ball that would last. The usual cart path did enough to trash and start flaking the ball's skin. I don't chew balls off the wedge with my Bobby Jone wedges so nothing to report here.

Spin - IMO and my swing, this is an i(z) and it spins more than the TM ldp red that I usually play. The draws shots off the tee were drawing more than desired.

Length - definitely longer than the TM, when the spin doesn't go berzerk. One shot was a 320 according to SkyCaddie so I nailed the 3 wood (Callaway DET) 5 yards past the pin onto the back edge of the green. Freak shot. The ball drew in the air hit the edge of the green and stopped at the back. It sure looked hot from where I hit it and surprised it stopped where it did. Don't think I've ever hit a ball this long, unless the GPS was out but looking at the stakes, it looked right.

Putting - pretty good. Not as clicky as the i(x) which I hate and this was harder then than the Tour i that I occassionally use. It's no TM red ldp softness though.

Chipping & pitching - pretty good. Equivalent to the ldp for my one hop stop. I don't spin it back 15ft like some people. My shots are stop at the divot or I hop.

Overall not a bad ball but from what I have seen, this is not a ball I would use to hit into the wind with my swing. It would spin and balloon. It spins more than TM red ldp which is my baseline ball. It's also not as tough as the ldp if I err on the cart path. Longer ball than the i(x) and the Tour i. If Callaway decides to toughen up the cover, I would get more of this ball when my ldp runs out.

what is you SW and other technical stuff because my friend and i were recommended the same thing. With the ix, tour D, is in the top 5

Back to the OP, overall it was pretty good but the feel of the putter IS SO CLICKY(felt like a rock compared to other premium balls), and it didnt seem to be that forgiving off mishits on the driver.

Played another round today with the i(z) and it's a spinner. At one time, I hit a gap and it spun back 12 feet from what was almost a certain birdie spot. Out of frustration, I went back to the TM red ldp ball and it was back to my familiar drop and stop. I do not consider myself a high spin wedge player since i generally pick the ball but this ball is spinning like crazy for me off the wedges.

I suspect these balls are designed with the new vgroove wedges in mind because I can't explain the spin on this ball from my swing. Nucking Futs :ninja:

It's a very good ball but it is the least durable ball I have ever used. To me it plays / feels almost exactly like the pre-2007 Pro V1x.

I swing approx. 100 mph and live at altitude and for me, the ix is the longest ball I have played. Spin is not as good as the iz but it's far more durable and predictable for me. The ix is hard as a rock but I like a firm ball so I don't mind.
