SK Fiber shaft ?

Has anyone had any experience with SK Fiber golf shafts? Are they good shafts?

I have the Hybrid Force 80 shafts in both of my hybrids and have had great success with them. Replaced an Aldila VS 80 in my Titleist 909h and an Aldila NC in my Ping G5 hybrid with these shafts...hit both clubs straighter, less spin, little bit lower flight. They were also tipped to play stiffer than the previous shafts so that is probably a big part of those changes. Even still, I really like the feel and have been really pleased overall. Cheap too!

They used to be the best off the shelf shaft and had excellent quality control, but that was 5 years ago. I also thought they played a little softer than expected--the stiff 3 wood shaft I bought felt more like a regular flex to me.

Used to be?? They are not anymore....??

Looking at the product lines they have, most of them are used in the Long Drive market.

I'm very interested in their new Superfly shaft. Weight at just 50 g. Maybe someone know a little bit about them?

Like I posted, I haven't ordered from them in 5 years so I don't know if things have changed or not. I would hope that they are still the same and after reading your post it sounds like they are still very good.

Anyone else?

I just visited with a club maker to get fit for a driver. After doing all the analysis we are building a driver with SK Fiber Lite Revolution I and a Wishon 919 head. I am a smooth 100mph swinger, definitely not a bomber, but the club maker loves the SK Fiber for its consistent qualities and performance. I will report back next week after I hit it.

IIRC the SK line is a filament wound style of shaft.

Clubmakers like them over flag layup shafs, etc. due to the fact that they usually have a very uniform bending action with virtually no spine effect. This of course means that no matter how you put it in the hosel it will have the same freq over 360*.
With my limited experience with them I thot they felt soft for the flex like 78blades said. However that could also be a product of the filament winding just feeling that way?
I made a 3 wood for a fella using the Tour Trac 80 in stiff and it was a real feel shaft. It was not loose and it straightened out his hard fade perfectly.
I would not hesitate to use their products most people have nothing but good experiences with them.

I have been playing with an SK Fiber Lite Revolution I for a couple of months. I love the shaft. It does feel soft and has slowed me down and made me more consistent. The great thing is that it does not perform like a soft shaft, it just feels that way. I went back to the club builder a couple of weeks ago on an unrelated issue and asked him about the flex in the shaft. I had never asked before. He told me it was a stiff trending to X. I was shocked. I was certain it was more in the range of a R flex. All in all a very impressive and affordable shaft. When we were making the club I gave the club maker carte blanche to use any shaft he thought best regardless of cost. He chose this based on its specs.

So Pete is it loose in the tip? I dont want anything that I have to slow down to hit well. I'm thinking about a Pure Energy or a Super Fly. The Lite Rev is on my radar too. Any details about other SK's you've tried or the one your gaming now would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah I'm also interested in SK Fiber Superfly..... Looks solid. Any review on this shaft?

No , I don't find it loose in the tip. I find it feels soft but performs with integrity. I am actually swinging the driver better as a result of the soft feel and I would guess my SS has increased as a result, but the shaft holds up. I remember speaking with a very good (+3) player years ago who played a stock OEM shaft that felt really soft but that he loved and imagine this is what he was talking about. Intuitively, a soft feeling shaft that holds up to high swing speeds is probably ideal, right?

I have used a SK Helium shaft in my R9 for years and found it to be the best of the 3 shafts I use. A graphite design and aldila nvs. I am getting ready to pull the trigger on a TM Stage2 driver and thinking about putting another SK in it. TM stock shafts are probably about $4 each.
