Iron shaft help........want to find an iron shaft that releases like a V2

I'm a 45 past parallel AGGRESSIVE, steep swinger/digger who has been playing PX 6.0 for the last 10 years. I've never been a fan of the one piece feel but love the stiff tip and need the spin help. In my quest for consistency I've noticed I miss a ton of greens and I attribute some of that to the shaft after my last experiment.

After being fit multiple times on Trackman for my driver and going thru a multitude of shafts, some with decent success I decided to try an old school shaft that I've never really hit bad in any weight/flex.....the UST V2. My goto for years was the V2 76x so I dropped one into my current setup and it was like finding my way back home after being lost for years. It must naturally fit my late release but I can do anything I want with it and the bonus is I don't have to think about shaft or mechanics just where I want to hit the shot.

Soooooo I want to find that magic slipper with my iron shafts. What shafts are on the market that will maintain the stiff tip/low spin I need but give me that bendy/flexy feel in the midsection like the V2....it almost feels like the shaft is breaking in the middle then accelerating at impact thru the ball which matches my VERY late release perfectly.

I've been reading about ctapers but the stepless design has me wondering if they'll have the midsection feel I'm looking for. Nippon also intrigues me but not sure on all their options. I could probably go to x100s and get some of what I'm looking for if all else fails..

Need help from the iron shaft experts!

Nippon 120 has a stiff tip and soft mid, it's the closest I think to what you are describing, dg might also work aswell, these both will spin more than PX

That might be a tough find - largely because looking at the bend profile info on the PFv2 76, it doesn't really have a softer butt or mid section and is actually relatively stiff compared to many other shafts of the same flex. Most people consider it generally stout or even boardy. I think you're the first I've ever seen describe it as having a softer mid section.

I'm not denying what you're feeling in any way, just that the reason you are getting that feel may not be exactly what you think and so it's going to be hard to use that info to recommend anything. Since it is such a subjective 'feel' based quest, your best bet is to find some place where you can demo a wide range of iron shafts to compare. Don't over look some of the heavier graphite options as well, they can provide a wider range of different "feels" from which to compare and choose from.

Appreciate the info I have a VERY late release and the V2 fits the timing of my release perfectly as you say feel is VERY subjective but they feel like they break /lag in the middle then explode thru impact. I feel this with soft butt shafts like whiteboard, ahina and tend to over draw/hook them when I get fast. Two other driver shafts I've had great success with is RIP Alpha. 80 and Rombax 7z08.

Just looking for an iron I can feel loading and unloading more than PX.
