DG s300 vs Nippon NS Pro 1150GH Tour Stiff

Just looking for opinions here to see if anyone has played either or both of these iron shafts. And possibly which they prefer.

I have played the s300 most of my life and just bought a set with the Nippon shaft. From what I have read, the NS Pro launches a little higher and spins less without giving up any distance. Even though the profile of the Nippon is that it is a mid to mid-low launching shaft (which would suit my game well).

Recently, the s300 had felt unresponsive and too rigid. Offering a very firm feel for my mizzy irons.

I have a smooth tempo swing and don't overload at the top with my irons. I swing my 6 iron about 80-85 mph. And I carry my 6 iron 175-185. Driver swing speed is 102-108 (depending on if I use my patented double-buttcheek swing or not). I consider myself more of a swinger than a hitter and concentrate on good contact rather than killing it. (Except with my driver ;) )

Just curious what everyone's feedback is between the two shafts and their preference.

The Nippon 1150 is a different animal that its brethren 950 and 1050.

It is more of a shaft for the better or higher speed player yet smooth feeling.

When I played it, I preferred the 1150 over the S300.

I agree. Plays like an Apex 4 only better. A terrific wind shaft. Soft to flex. I played the "reg." X, not the "Tour" X and everything else I play is an "S."

I think Nippon is by far the best steel iron shaft mfg out there. Every offering I've played has been an absolutely terrific wind shaft. And the spin is very very consistent. They put the ball on the number- on both the carry and with identical amount of suck back. On the number.

You guys are making me wish I got the x flex.

Doesn't the 1150 only come in a "tour"?
