I feel like the sm4 tvds are the best wedges I've ever owned. I wish I had purchased some extra sets of them before they were discontinued.

I'll second that. The SM4 TVD's were absolutely awesome. I like the SM5's just fine but the SM4's felt better and held up better. I bought a brand new TVD SM4 50* and TVD SM5 56 and 60* last year, and the contrast between the wear on the 50* vs the other two was pretty incredible. 50 was a champ, the other two had to be replaced for this year.

I had a set of SM5's thinking they would be the same shape, but I sold them because they look too big to my eye. I went back to my SM4's. though the grooves are getting a bit worn and I need to start looking for some replacements soon. I did see the Taylormade EF's and they have a VERY nice shape. Perhaps I'll try some Mizunos or Callaways? Always been a Vokey guy, so anything besides them might be tough to get used to.

Sharpen your grooves and your back in business. Even a small flat head will work wonders.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who has noticed this! I have a set of the SM4 TVD M's that I really like. Can't even stand the SM5's. They look huge! The SM4's been played to death and don't spin much anymore. Been trying to replace them with something else. Really liking my new Nike engages. Very similar in size and shape. If anything the Nike looks a little smaller. Can't wait for them to rust.[attachment=2780002:image.jpg][attachment=2780004:image.jpg]

Although they are a bit larger than some I LOVE the sm5s. I fell in love last year when I tried them at a demo day but resisted as ive never been a huge fan of Titleist. In March I ordered a 53* and 60* M-grinds and I have not been this confident in my wedges in 20 yrs(eye2 +). Liked them so much, 2 weeks ago I ordered a 47* pw to replace my i20 pw. For my eye the sm5s frame the ball perfectly and the M-grind is the best of both worlds. Enough bounce that they are like cheating out of the bunkers and enough relief that I can open them from tight lies without fear. I have owned 7-8 different wedge sets in the last 3 years and these are the 1st set that will be holding their spot for more than 4-5 months. The sm5s have turned my wedge game from a weakness to a strength in a few months.
