undecided for a craz-e krasten vs. i-series

hi everybody, new here.

 

been playing golf since kid, but left it for about 9 years, since, been upgrading my bag with the new tech, got an all ping bag, g2 irons and woods, i serires wedges, and i'm looking for a putter.

 

been reading a lot out of this putters but i¡m undecdided on what to get, like this style but dont understand the diferences between these two.

 

please, explain pros and cons, diferences on these two.

I tried them both and went with the Karsten. The Karsten is a lot firmer feeling and, in my opinion, had more feedback. Basically I just liked the feel of it better. If my wife would have let me I would have gotten a Redwood over both of them but I value my existense. :rolleyes:

i read that, suposily (sp?) the insert make for less skid and more roll on the ball, is this true?

Nope, not as far as I know. Loft, if anything, has more effect on the roll of the ball than anything else.

Of the two you mentioned, I prefered the more solid feel of the Karsten.....and it's one of the best values at 90 bucks, IMO. Of course shortly after I spent some time testing a Karsten, I came across an opportunity to get my hands on a Redwood at a great price. Easily the best putter I've ever owned, if you can find a deal or might consider throwing out some more cash, do yourself a favor and try a Redwood.

i tougth that most prefered the insert feel of the i sreies, that was the one that i was leaning for, but after your coments and more reading that i've done, i'm considering the karsten.

rigth now i'm using a rossa spider, my nephew's, and i love the feel of the insert. but i get what you'all say about the solid feelig os the karsten.

It's good to get opinions and others to help you in considering things you'd otherwise not have thought of, but really it all comes down to personal preference. Some things you should consider are type of ball you use, feedback you're looking for in a putter, etc. I'm more about the harder feel (provides more auditory feedback), but I also use a softer ball. But I have to give it up for the i-series insert. Best insert to date from Ping, in my mind. It's soft without being mushy but solid without feeling too hot. Plus, it doesn't have that plasticky "click" to it, which is a huge turnoff to me. I'd spend some quality time with both before making your decision, and if you have any doubts in your mind as to which is better for you...get both. :rolleyes:

I am very happy with my Craz-E Karsten. I haven't tried the other so I can't comment. I would suggest putting with both with a variety of golf balls and see which one feels/rolls better for you.

i've never tougth about the hardness of the ball, i use mostly pro v1, so i think that it wolud be best to have the solid face of the karsten.

for me its very dificult to try or test clubs, i live in mexico, about 6 hrs from tucson az, last time i went there i was looking for bag and shoes, lol, wasnt thinking on the putter, the one that i have from my old days it s a callaway warbird putter, wich i like very muc

 

yestarday i saw a guy on my golf course with a 1/2 craz-e belly, i'll try to give it a go and feel that.

 

what type of putter can give me the feel of a krasten serires? or is it diferent 'cause of the insert?
