I just sold my Bettinardi. It's not for me. I would tell people that if you can put well with you left hand only (for RH), then give this a try. Note you may also need to adjust your grip for this putter too. Make sure you get the right length. I'm 5'11" and 43" is the length I would use.
[/quote]

You must stand pretty upright when you putt. Im around the same height as you and use a 40" model/

^Importance of getting the length correct. I putted some with mine then measured then marked about an inch or so below my elbow and cut it down.

Any putter that's on the market. Wait what?!

Only a shaft extension is needed and a company by the name Arm-Lock Golf produces a grip that converts any putter into an armlock. Yes only a grip. There is no need to have a lie adjustment of extra offset added to the actual putter. The grip bore is angled in such a way that it adds the additional loft to the putter and without the need to forward press. The photo above is of my Golo 5 Armlock w/ the armlock converter grip. Think of how your favorite food tastes, thats how my putter rolls...its that good, blissful deliciousness.

I don't think it adds loft. I believe it is bored in a way that the shaft stays straight up and down so there is no need to add loft. If the grip were to add loft then you would need to forward press.

Bettinardis design is a great design and lots of thought went into the design. The loft/offset is perfect in how it sets up to the ball.

It effectively adds 3° loft. Shaft goes in on the left side of the grip and comes up to the right end at the top. Check their site. Arm-Lockgolf.com can better explain it than me. But I can only comment through first hand experience, but what good is that apparently? Plus your option is clearly subjective, which you are entitled to.

Ok. Still think they need to figure out how to make this grip lighter. It weighs nearly as much as a putter head.

No doubt it is heavy. Thats why I went with the 17" AL2 version. But remember counterbalancing is to simulate the feel and have the same benefits of a belly butter by back weighting the grip. This is premised that the hands are below the weight in the grip. Arm lock and CB are distinctly different. It's a valid point as I had the same reservations but since the grip rests against the forearm, and the stroke made is similar to Snedeker's pop stroke and not a pendulum like stroke, grip weight really has no bearing on the stroke relative to head weight when you apply CB principles.

Yeah, at least its an easy experiment that if you hate you can rip it out quick.

Wanted to put in my 2 cents. I went and picked up an AL2 from Arm-lockgolf.com tossed in an extension and on went the grip....
maybe 20 to 30 putts I would say 15 feet and under this is just about automatic! I've always have had an issue with getting the ball started on line and so far, this grip is the answer. Good feel and I actually like the weight of this grip. very dense feel and you don't lose any of the feed back on the clubface.

Is it true that these grips are not tournament legal? I saw where different brand had USGA non-conforming on them. I am interested in this idea. I have been armlocking for two years and presently use a 38in counterbalance golo 5. I have found I can minipulate the putter loft with shoulder lean and have improved my putting with this method dramatically.

"
Our patented and USGA conforming Arm-Lock Converter putter grip alleviates the forward press resulting in an improved address position while increasing the effective loft of the putter by 2-3 degrees. Our patent pending, angled shaft channel in the Converter grip attains this.

Any tips for installing the arm-lock grip? I bought one and am wanting to blow it on but have not installed a grip without the traditional tape and solvent slide on method. Can I put this on with masking tape? No tape? Do I need solvent? Really appreciate any tips from those who have done this before I screw up a $30 grip!
