This is my bag from 2nd half of last year and going into 2018. Notable changes from July last year are: upgrade driver from G25 to G400 with stock ALTA CB stiff shaft, addition of 4,6 and 7 irons (Mizuno JPX900 Hot metal with KBS Tour 130X steel). These clubs Join my trusty Ping G25 5W with stock TFC 189 stiff, my 714 AP2's (7-PW with KBS Tour stiff), Cleveland wedges RTX 2.0 blade wedges in 50--52--54--58 all with True Temper wedge flex, and my Scotty Cameron Select Newport 2 2016 putter.

Why two seven irons? Well, the lofts of the Hot Metals are stronger than the AP2's so these 7 and 6 irons are actually 6 and 5 irons (bent by a degree or two to achieve 4 degree gapping, which I had from 4 iron through 58 degree before adding the 52 degree and taking out the 3W last Fall).

Great looking bag. I noticed your only fairway wood is a 5 wood. I have been thinking of doing the same thing. I think that sacrificing some length for added accuracy would be worth it. What has been your experience?

It has been ok so far. I struggled to hit my 3W consistently for forever, and although it improved markedly in the past couple of seasons, the fact remained that for my home course, at least, a 3W was really not necessary. Have I had a few situations where I wished I kept it in the bag? Sure, but I don't think my scores necessarily suffered from its absence. The addition of my 52 degree in its place has given me even more versatility inside 130 yards, which I feel is the more important end of the bag. I realized at some point last summer that I had much more confidence with my 5W and could get between 200 and 235 yards out of it with a high degree of repeatability, which is really more than enough for my 6300 yard par 72 home course (70.5 rating 123 slope). Now, this has worked for me, but you should ask yourself some questions about your game and the course(s) you play most before making any changes to your bag. Best of luck to you.
