Best Looking Driver Money Can Buy? I think so.

Yesterday I had a couple of Drivers on the Course, this being one of them.

 

My Callaway Only Bud nails his drive with his new FTi-Q (SQ head) w/Fubuki. Really nice shot actually. I hand him the 901 and tell him to hit it. He nails it, as he hits it he goes (loud scream kinda) WOW that felt great, trying to hold back.

 

32 yards. And it felt and sounded better....

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

32 yards. That's pretty much 3 clubs difference.

 

 

 

 

 

 

It wouldn't matter if it was 50 yards he'll never give up a Callaway product for anything else.

Does this have a muted sound at impact or loud? What is the closest in terms of USDM drivers?

LIved in Japan for 6 years and played alot of golf with the locals... Funny thing was they all had Tourstage and Honwa and wished they could get the PINGs, Callaway and Titleist gear. Japanese gear is so sweet, wish I had bought a bunch of it before I left.

It's not a muted sound, however it's not harsh either. I'm not sure if anything on the us market sounds quite like it.

Had I not just put a shaft in it, I would have taken a pic of my backup J33R proto.  The 390cc model is sweeet.   A perfect, traditional shape and muted sound.  I luv hotmelt.....

I agree with this assessment and it is definitely not "tingy". If I had to pick muted or loud, I would go with muted. Just a very solid feeling/sounding driver. I have a hard time believing anyone would object to the sound of this head as it is not harsh at all.

You have really interested me in a brand I was unaware of ( Bridgestone excepted )

I am in the lucky position of being able to afford this club BUT I don't want to make an expensive mistake.

I am swinger 6 H'Cap with 100- 105 mph speed on a Ping G2 TCF stiff which , if I can feel the pause at the top and the shaft bend ,gives me good distance . I can also HIT an old Callaway 9 deg Hawkeye with confidence on an old '96 stiff shaft with no worries but not as much distance ( length of shaft ?? )

Idealy I would like the feel of the old Callaway shaft so that I can give it a whack without worrying about a wayward drive with the Ping distance AND the Tourstage look.

 

Any advice, sorry if I have not had experience of the esoteric shafts , tried a Speeder 757 once, far too stiff.

I was just curious if anyone knows how Tourstage X-Drives compare with Fourteen's offerings, such as the Fourteen JC-707 (with a reshaft). Thank you.

IMO, the difference would be the difference in the shafts.

 

Comparing the "heads only" or with identical shafts, the TS is the better Driver.

 

The shaft upgrade in the 707 would make all the difference.
