2019 South African Open

For some reason to me it appears golf is not Oosthuizen's main priority in life.

But he is awfully good at it.

I think Pete Cowen said in an interview that golf always comes third for Louis.

1. His family

2. His farm

3. Golf

3rd priority.

Still has a major and 4 2nd places in majors. Not bad.

Seven golfers have a runner up in all four majors and all have won at least one.

Craig Wood, Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer, Tom Watson, Greg Norman, Phil Mickelson and Louis Oosthuizen

Tiger needs a runner up in the British Open to make the list.

^^ Wood and Norman both have the playoff loss slam.

Watson has three legs of the playoff loss slam.

As far I can tell of Jack's 19 2nd place finishes only one playoff loss, the famous US Open playoff with Trevino.

Good on him, I wish winning his home Open meant as much to Jason Day.

I always think its gotta be more difficult as the years roll by (kids get to high school age) to live in the US, when the pull of home is strong.

Geoff Ogilvy at 41 (another 1 major guy) is packing up and coming home.

This was Louis first appearance at the South African Open since 2010.

Thanks Darth, I should have looked into a little better.

If he buys tractors and stuff with his golf income, that farm must be pretty damn well equipped. Champagne cooler in his combine.

With the new government in S.A. about to start stealing farms from whitey, its understandable golf might not be a top priority for South Africans.

Pretty sure that's not a group Woods wants to join.

Do you live in SA. If you did, you would understand that such an inflammatory statement in just not factually true, and really has nothing to do with this thread.

Was that the one with the snake?

Yes, 1971 @ Merion.
