Found a prior generation pro v1x on golf course this past weekend, it was like brand new..anyway, i played it for the rest of the round, wow, must say loved it, especially putting , felt great, so just wondering how it compares to the 2019 pro v1x? I dont see myself playing it, but just wondering in case i wanta try 2019 version.., thanks for any input

I can’t see much difference in them. I liked the 2017 ProV1 a lot, but wanted a higher ball flight and more greenside spin so went to the 2019 V1x. I love this version of it. I feel like it is super long and checks nicely on greens, and gives me towering drives / iron shots when I want to play those. About the only concern I had with it was putter feel. I love a soft ball when I’m putting, and the V1x ain’t that. But I’ve gotten used to the feel now and just overall see no reason to go hunting for another ball to play.

Is there such a thing as a forgiving ball? Yes, and it is the Pro V1x (2017 or 2019). I've recently played both and I like the 2019 Pro V1x better because it feels a hair softer and is longer. Both are straighter then usual. Both great for everything else. Also, I have a slow swing speed and this ball flat outperforms my previous ball as well as all other Tour balls that I've tried.

I could be wrong but didnt titleist switch the models this year in 2019. So I think the 2019 prov1 would compare to the 2017 prov1x and vice versa.

I'm not good enough to "prove" this is generally true but I have the distinct impression that 2019 Pro V1x is longer off my driver (total carry+roll) than the 2017 or 2015 Pro V1x.

I say that because I switched from 2015/2017 Pro V1x to AVX most because I gained at least 10 yards of average total driver distance. And it wasn't a honeymoon effect that wore off after 20 or 50 rounds with AVX. Then I tried the 2019 Pro V1x for two rounds and did not seem to be giving up anything off the driver at all.

The final test was digging out one of my old 2017 Pro V1x, playing it for one round including several tee shots side-by-side with the 2019 version, and finding the same 5-10 yard shortage I expected. Not sure what about it changed but for my puny swing (I max out about 200 carry and 220-230 total if I absolutely pure one) the 2019 Pro V1x is better than the earlier versions. The 2019 seems to land hotter and flatter than earlier Pro V1x version, while still having a nice, high peak trajectory.

P.S. Plus it's the same old Pro V1x when it comes to iron shots and around the green (which is a very good thing IMO).
