Advice for keeping left arm straighter through downswing

I've always been too far from the inside which causes me to get stuck and flip and on a recent visit to a simulator got to see my swing on tape and noticed that my left arm breaks down through my downswing. Any tips or drills would be appreciated as I have all winter to try and do something about it.

Your arms are trialing your body. Your left elbow pulls to get the club forward and hold the face open to avoid the stall flip that results from arms trailing.

 

If all you do is straighten the left arm, the ball striking results would be significantly worse.

 

The first step is likely shorten the arm swing in the backswing.

Step 2 would be improve transition sequence so arms link up to the body better. Need a down the line to see more about that issue.

Unfortunately I don't have a down the line shot. When you say shorten the arm swing do you mean to literally bring the club back less and shorten my backswing? Do you have any drills for improving the transition sequence to get my arms and lower body better synced?

Yes slight shorter swing....the drill will depend on why. Need a down the line the see more of the why.

some can some can't if it does not cause issues don't worry about it. teachers have been skirting this for as long as I remember. Simply, you can lesson it but some never get rid of it.
