Ecco Biom H3 vs Cool Pro

I've got a pair of BH2's that are very comfortable and was wondering if the two shoes mentioned in the title fit the same?

Any reason to choose one over the other? I am looking for a multi use shoe that can hold up to wet weather, as well as summer rounds here in TX in the dewy mornings.

Also curious if the leather for either model stains and shows water spots? On my BH 2's I have the brown color and they look terrible on the toe area from water stains.

I find my BH3 show salt stains during hot weather and use their shoe wipes to clean after use. If they are showing wet weather water stains you need to apply the waterproofing spray.

just pulled the trigger on the BH3 simply because the footbed is MUCH softer than the new PRO.

 

they went for more stability for the cool pro, therefore the sole is a bit "stiffer", a feel i did not like.

I buy Ecco because they are absolutely consistent in their sizing. That allows me to purchase with confidence and not having to worry about returning shoes that do not fit.

I never had a pair of the BH 2's, but I had 2 pairs of the BH 3 BOA's and thought they were the best golf shoe I'd ever worn. For Christmas this year my wife got me a pair of the new Biom Cool Pro's and I am blown away by how good this shoe is. It actually wasn't all that comfortable for the first round but after they got just slightly worn in they turned into the most outrageously comfortable pair of shoes (not just golf shoes) that I have ever owned. I wear them around with or without socks all the time because they are so much more comfortable than anything else I own. I haven't had a chance to test how waterproof they are yet but I've never had an issue with any Gore-Tex/Ecco product in the past so I would imagine these are similar. I was a little worried about the texture on the top of the shoe and keeping them clean but so far no problems in that regard either.

Bottom line for me, the Ecco Cool Pro is just stupid good. Can't say enough about this shoe.

I was thrown off when i tried them off. Sole seemed stiff and uncomfortable, when most eccos ive used are set to go right out of the box. Maybe i will try them out and see how they feel after a slight break in period. I agree that the BH3 w boa is TOP TOP notch.

That “textured” leather on the Cool Pros doesn’t result in dirt, etc., in the little holes?

Not so far no. I've played a few rounds in early morning wet conditions in FL and nothing got stuck in there and I've played quite a few rounds during Spring mud season here in the Northeast and nothing getting stuck in the textured portion of the shoe. They actually look way cleaner after 10 or so rounds than my BH 3 BOA's did.

Which colorway did you get? I have been eyeing the concrete ones.

I have the brown BH3 and they are my most comfortable shoe, but more of a fall/winter color. I originally had the white but the contrasting leather on the toe started to wear immediately; you could rub it off with your thumb. Returned for brown and it hasn't been a problem. The sole durability and performance is the best non cleat in golf.

I have the concrete version. The BH 3 BOA's I have are white which probably has something to do with why the grey ones look better after some use. Agree with you on the sole durability, it's unreal how good it is vs. other hybrid golf shoes I've had from Nike, etc. I think the hard part with hybrid shoes is striking a good balance between sneaker like comfort and true golf worthy stability and these shoes are really good in that respect.
