Shaft lengths of Dyanmic gold

When they list the length of 39" on golfworks.com for the length of the Dynamic Gold X100 Tap .355 shaft, is that the actual length of the shaft, or the length that it will play to when installed in the club head. I am trying or order some shafts but am having trouble locating enough long ones. I need an inch over standard in ping eye2's. Will this 39" shaft give me the right length for all clubs, 3-PW if I just butt trim all the clubs to the right length and just buy 8 of the same length.

I'm not an expert so someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that the length you choose depends on the specific club you're shafting it for. Like for example a PW would use the shaft tapered at a shorter length (i.e. 37") while say the 2i would need the longer shafter (41"). The shaft length they list, I believe is the length of the shaft alone so when you have it installed into the head it will have to be cut down to the standard length and gripped. So in your case I believe you'd need one of each shaft listed, i.e. 37 to 40.5, for 3-PW. Maybe if you wanted even stiffer than normal you could get 37.5 to 41. Most likely you're gonna have a club professional install them so all you need to do is buy the right shafts and tell him the length. Usually the 5 iron length is 37.75" or 38" depending on the brand and model so I'd guess you'd have to have it cut down to 38.75" or 39" if you want it an inch over. Again wait for one of the more knowledgeable people to agree or disagree with me since I'm kinda new.

You can use what they call DGXL100, that means the shaft has an extra lenght to acomodate extra lenght club.

They start w/:

1 iron at 41"

all the way down w/ 1/2" increment:

9 iron and PW using the same shaft at 37".

So 39" is a 5 iron shaft.

COULD I use a 39.5 inch for a 3 iron, they are out of stock of the 40 inch shaft and I don't want to wait for them to be back in stock.

That means you are hard stepping the shaft flex.

It will play stiffer that way, it's fine if you think you can handle it.

But me personally will never do that if the shaft only gonna cost you around 3 visit to starbuck.
