Not true. Im using the GolfLogix app on my iphone 4 with Verizon, works great.

I was on the golf logix website and it said something about Verizon not allowing 3rd Party gps? I know nothing about this stuff.

If you got as far as reading their website you should have read specifically what the content was: Verizon blocks all all 3rd party GPS apps on their Curve model and Bold model only. Other phones with Verizon are not blocked.

I have the Golflgix on my Driod X and have had nothing but problems with the GPS being finicky.

I downloaded the SkyDroid app for $1.99 and it was great until yesterday when the GPS was finicky again.

Seems like a prblem with the phone and not the app. Anyone else have these problems?

I have it on my Droid X, used it on 3 different courses in California (two completely different locations) on vacation a week or so ago and it worked flawlessly, so maybe a problem with the phone, sorry I can't help with what could be causing it. I'd start with the app's customer service first, though. Sorry I don't have any insight into your issue, but not sure exactly what the problems are.

It just keeps losing the GPS location and when it loses it I have to start the app over to pick the GPS back up

Also, this is proabably a dumb question but is there not a setting where I can lock the phone (press button on top of DX) and when I unlock it the GPS pick up where I am at? Usually when I do this, the GPS stops and is stuck at the location where I last locked it. Plus I have to start the app over to get the GPS going again

I am use to using the lock button (did this with my old blackberry) to save battery, since it would turn the display off but the GPS and Golflogix app would still be active when locked.

It does sound like a phone issue. I do the same, push the button on top of the phone, but the app keeps running.

There was an issue but its been resolved for over 2 years now. Ive had it on my Verizon BB Tour almost 2 years. The previous issue was that Verizon would disable the phones onboard GPS in order to force customers to have to purchase their proprietary VZ Navigator. I had this exact issue with my Verizon BB Curve.

But it WAS an issue?

I have similar problems with google maps and the Navigation on my DX. It has a very hard time finding my location. Like it finds me maybe 1 out of 10 times. I have messed with the location settings and nothing has helped

Yes, but GolfLogix still has not update their app for all phones on verizon. IE. Curve 8530 still does not work and the GolfLogix site still says Verizon does not allow.

I had it on my verizon BB Tour and now have it on my Verizon BB Storm 2. Works like a champ.
