To the club ho's

Are any of you embarassed?

Hi all, i was wondering if any of the club ho's out there get embarrased or ashamed of the fact that every time you step out on the course theres somthing new in the bag? I know a few guys at my club who havent changed clubs in years, and i feel ashamed to show up for a round with something new in my bag. It's as if they think I have no game, and have to change clubs frequently. I'm probably being to analytical about this, but It always crosses my mind when i think about changing clubs.

While I don't quite fit the criteria, since I don't have something new "every time" I get to the course, I feel no embarrassment about having something different in the bag from time to time. Golf is my only hobby, ho'ing new clubs is addictive and fun at the same time, although it can become expensive.

 

I know a few golfers who have the same equipment for over 10 years, if doing that works for them then so be it, I prefer to try newer weapons.

I get asked all the time "what are you hitting now", and then they start rummaging through my bag. What they don't realize is I rarely change what I am using round to round, but will bring different items to the range to try out. Also in a practice type of round it was not uncommon to find me camping out a hole hitting multiple drivers.

 

With all that in mind, I am not sure it's embarrassing more than an annoying to be asked.

I don't change clubs that often, I'd say I'm about avg. for my friends. But you shouldn't be embarrassed about it. If you like to get new clubs and you can afford to do it then do it and don't worry about what others have to say about it.

Golfers around the world, and especially American golfers; are bilked out of millions of dollars each year by golf equipment manufacturers,..............Because,.............They allow themselves to be! An athlete knows and understands that if you have a quality set of clubs; buying the next "Hot Set-Up" that is introduced by the manfacturer "Pimps", is not going to raise the level of your ball striking ability. I am truly amazed that people can't comprehend this.:rolleyes:

The guys I play with could care less what I have in my bag...new or otherwise. I had one of the Matrix Limes last year and they took notice of that but just to ridicule. Heartless bunch. They are more interested in getting what's in my wallet.
