How is your golf league setup?

I run a league and am always looking for tweaks to make things interesting every year, so I was wondering how the leagues you play in are setup? Here is the basic setup of our league, which consists of 12 2-man teams.

 

First 11 weeks: Round Robin, each week you can win 5 points for your team - 2 points for each individual match and 1 point for team total low net score - pay out top 4 teams after Round Robin.

 

4-week Mini Tournament: Based on the results of the round Robin, we seed every team and play a single elimination knockout tournament similar to the NCAA Basketball tournament - teams that win get paid out every week, so you keep winning, you keep getting paid. Losing teams go into a losers pool for any remaining weeks.

 

3 Weeks of Ryder Cup - we select captains and then draft teams and play a round of Chapman (also called Pinehurst), a round of Best Ball, and finish it up with singles. Ryder Cup rounds are usually played around weeks 6, 12, and 18 to mix things up.

 

Every week we also do payouts for low net, closest to the pin, and skins. For skins we used the modified handicaps below, not your actual 9-hole handicaps. This has worked much better than using actual handicaps as far as distribution of winners.

Anything else interesting that you do in the leagues you run?

We just play straight points:
0 double or worse
1 bogey
2 par
3 birdie
5 eagle

The amount of points needed are just like handicap and go up/down. If you win you go up 1, if you shoot 4 under your points you go down 1. I only play the nine hole matches twice a week but we also do an 18. I'm at 14 points on 9 holes so I basically have to shoot 38 or better, +2 on points usually wins. I like the system and 0 points for double means frequent pickups and helps keep the pace up. Thirty of us can play 9 in 2hr or less.

2 person teams, each hole is worth 3 points, 1 for each individual match, 1 for team match. Low net in each case based on low man in the group playing as scratch.
