Well I had my heart set on some boron black 501 irons and went to get fitted today for them. I was able to hit the regular 501, the baby blades, among some others. I was amazed that I didn't really care for the 501s but loved the baby blades. So no boron black for me but ended up ordering the baby blades with s400 shafts. I figured if I really want them black I can just send them off to get customized. I will say the 3 iron looks a bit small but stoked to give it a try. This coming from a guy who loves a 2 iron. I will have them Tuesday which feels like a month away. Oh well I have nothing special to add just never been so excited over a set of clubs, like a kid on Christmas Eve.

I hope they are the clubs that will stay in the bag for a few seasons.

Congrats! The BB are my favorite! The size is addictive, too. After playing them a bit, just about everything else looks like a set of Little Tykes in comparison.

1. Love it thanks for showing it. 2. I hate you for showing it. The guy had a set he was bending for another customer in the 9003 and they soles and face were wearing off color wise. Not like a rust but still wearing. I couldn't justify 70-75 more a club for boron when it wears off. But wow they look good in black.

I tried the 501 as a demo before going with the TB...amazed that I couldn't consistently find the sweet spot on the 501. Even with impact tape showing a center strike it just wasn't there.

I didn't have the guts to go wih the BB just because it look so small....BB 6 iron standing on a flat driving range smoothing shots was great. But I had visions of being in a tournament with a hanging lie 4 iron in my hand and pulling a Simpson/Korda/Stenson like lateral. Oddly another thread compared the specs of the TB to BB and the actual measurements don't support my claim that the BBs are a lot smaller than the TBs.

That Black Boron Baby Blades are nice....I guess the abbreviation will now be BBBB.

The numbers don't tell the story. When you're starting with something pretty small already, a little bit smaller may mean all the difference in the world. Those things are SMALL. I played them for a couple years and now when I pick one up, WHOA! Almost like playing with a shaft.

Oh, I agree....those things are itty-bitty. Whoever said millimeters don't make a difference hasn't looked down on a baby blade.

I was joking about them being a gi. I'm not to worried about 6-pw and if the 5 or 4 are to much I will simply get a 5 and 4 mizuno. The fact that it is March I'm sure they have the screens over the back boxes until after the players. Plus the valley course is now closed until the web.com championship, so it will be super busy on the stadium until the shut down play all together.

Anyone use the no1 grips? They felt good so they are going on the bb.

I've used them on several sets. They feel GREAT at first but wear VERY quickly. And if it's humid they don't do well. Get slick in humidity.

Well I called the ups driver and met him on the way to the golf course to grab my baby blades. Was 10 minutes late to the course so no range time just straight to number 1 tee box. All I can say is these are sweet. I can tell you these felt much better than my 712mb and my amp cell pros. However, so far I couldn't tell much difference between the bb and my buddies mp-4s.

I had zero issues with the size of the clubs and for the most part hit them very well all day. I need to work on my distances with them. First par 3 was a back pin and was 184 yards. Took out my 6 iron and flew the green by a few yards. I stuck a few nice shots with the pw and 8 iron. I did have some misses, I hit a 7 iron towards the toe and ended up about 10 yards short. I tried to reach a short par 5 in two and sprayed a 4 iron 15-20 yards right. ( the 4 iron looked smaller than ball!!! but it was just a poor swing and my fade turned into a major slice)

At the end of the day I absolutely love these babies. I did have some bad thoughts when my buddy hit bumps and curbs at full speed and the clubs rattled against each other.

Welcome to the Baby Blade Club!

I experienced the same thing with distance control when I first got mine. Some jumpers, some duds, but with some time you get them dialed in very very nicely.

Ps. Get some iron covers asap!
