Found a used one with a different bronze paint finish

Looking for any input from Cameron experts - I found this one in the used bin at a local shop and putted around with it. The extra weight of the head made it feel really solid. But I'm concerned because it was a funny bronze paint finish that I've never seen before (the putter head said Pro Platinum). Also, the face was a shiny chrome with no mill marks. Other than the finish, it looks authentic, with a Scotty labeled shaft, etc.

I suppose I could buy it even if it had been refinished, though it would probably bug me after awhile. Granted I am not a collector and am not totally wrapped up in restoring Camerons, etc.

Sounds like an aftermarket finish - so you're saying the body is of a different color than the face?

 

The face should have mill marks - mine does - which sounds like someone milled it smooth.

 

As long as there were no stamps done to make it seem like a tour model, you should be able to send it to the Scotty Custom Shop and have them refinish it with no problem.

 

Yes, the body is the "painted bronze" and the face is chrome-like and smooth. Why would anyone mill the face smooth? Oh well, I guess I will head over to the shop again at lunch and putt around with it. Meanwhile, I'm going to do some research on restoring it.
