Scotty Cameron and bettinardi ever worked together?

Did they ever work together back in the day????

Today a kid came up to me and told me Scotty Cameron and Bob Bettinardi used to work together....does any one know if there is any truth to that.....im pretty sure that Scotty used to work with T.P Mills but i was not sure if he ever worked with Bettinardi....and help????????

RJB milled putters for Scotty for a few years. I am not sure if they worked together at the same company but, he did SC Titleist(and a few others) putters for a period of time.

Bettinardi used to do the rough milling on the Cameron heads. Scotty would then take them and finish them off. I would guess that it was Scotty and his workers or maybe just the workers.

Not sure about the details of the ending of the arrangement, so I won't even speculate.

I don't think that Scotty ever worked with TP, though. Alot of TP's design aspects can be seen in Scotty's putters, though. It is just taking what works and tweaking it and putting your own touch on it.

Not 100% positive on any of the above info, but pretty certain.

Ok guys here's the story. Bettenardi used 2 make the putterheads and mill them 4 scotty. when scotty signed with titleist, Bettenardi thought he was gonna make alot more putters (= more$$$) but the thing was, scotty was getting the putters from china. So bettenardi left SC Putter co. and made his own co. THEY HATE EACHOTHER!!!

I also heard when Bettinardi left Cameron couldn't figure out how to get the insert to fit in the TeIs correctly.

 

Of course that might be an urban legend.

I think we should have Todd tell us what he knows about the 2. I have a pretty good timeline on what happened between RJB and Scotty. From what I have gathered he milled Scotty`s Titleist putters from 1994-98. The little known fact of this story was... Scotty had someone else lined up to mill his putters.. He stiffed the Guy and he then went bankrupt.

He never worked with TP Mills. He did work with Tad Moore, and very briefly with Ken Giannini.

Call up Tad and ask him how much they worked together.. you would be very surprised. Bettinardi also milled putters for Tad for a while.
