Hey guys,

Just joined GolfWRX this week. I'm from Kentucky. Been golfing off and on for about 8 years. Don't know my handicap but want to find out. Played with hand-me-down Cleveland VAS irons ever since I started playing and finally ordered custom fit Ping G25 irons. Love playing and watching the game. Thanks for making this a great community!

I mostly play in NKY/Cincinnati. I went to Univ. of South Carolina for college so I played a lot of courses down there for the past four years. My buddies always want to play the crappier courses around here but I've been wanting to explore some of the better public ones (e.g. Shaker Run, Lassing Pointe).

Where do you play?

Originally from NKY area, but now live in Toledo. I would certainly play lassing pointe, and I would also look at Kenton County (fox run)

If you want to take a little drive, belterra is about 55 minutes away and has a great golf course and a nice casino as well.

Don't waste your time with Fox Run. They put in new fairways last year and they didn't survive the brutal winter. Every fairway is completely dead and basically dirt. They have reduced their rates but still not worth it. Shaker Run is overhyped and has apparently gone down hill in recent years.

I'd drive to the east side of cincy and play Legendary Run or Elks Run. FYI memberships at Summit Hills in Edgewood are now pretty reasonable depending on your age.

Lassing Pointe is a fun course to play. Love the green at 18 which is 103 yards long. Yes, the green itself is 103 yards long. Pay attention to the pin location or you could have a massive putt there.

In Hebron, which should be relatively close to you is Traditions. Fantastic course to play. Haven't played it this year but it has always been in great condition every time I have played there.

I concur, Fox Run is terrible. Willows at KC is ok. Elks Run is very good. Lassing can be hit and miss depending on time of the year. I played AJ Jolly last week and it was good. Many good courses in Lexington, Ky.

The best golf store around is Golf Exchange. They now have 4 stores. The original is on Mall Rd in Florence, Ky.

Completely agree on Golf Exchange. I lived in NKY for years and frequented their Florence store. I now live in Lexington, and was recently fit for a new set of Mizunos at the store here. They have a 25% discount on their website if you sign up online for their newsletter. 25% off a brand new fitted set is a pretty damn good deal (excludes titleist and ping of course).

Also agree with the golf in Lexington. There are a lot of courses and some great tracks. Cherry Blossom in Georgetown is always a fun course. Kearney Hills, University Club, Griffin Gate, The Bull, Old Silo, etc.... lots of good public golf to choose from here.

Do you know that they now have a store in Lexington? I am not sure where as the original store is about 2 miles from my house.

My fitted g25's came from GE last season. I believe they are having a demo on Sat at a Legendary Run.

Early in hand photos of the new GT2 models t the truck.  As soon as they show up on the range in player's bags we'll get some better from the top photos and hopefully some comparison photos against the last model.
