alternates

Just a quick question for those in the AJGA...I'm the first alternate for the Medicus Prseason Junior at Rochester. Are the chances of me getting into the tournament good? If so, when and how will I hear? Anyone else playing?

Actually there is a very good chance of you getting in. Usually if you are in the top 3 alternate positions you have an excellent chance of getting in. If you live locally they can call and tell you your in up to the day before the practice round i believe. I was 1st alternate for a tournametn in California and got in a month or so ahead of time but unfortunately couldnt make the trip so the spot went back up for grabs 2 weeks later.

I have two buddies that signed up, one is the 6th alternate, and then the other is the 23rd. Fortunately I was the 9th to sign up so I was able to get in, I'm hoping that David (Gushee) gets a spot, but being the 6th it's gunna be tough ;) With the AJGA, make sure you have the credit card info, your address, and name all somewhere on your computer where you can copy and paste it really quick, or on autofill - makes the process a LOT quicker. Last year for a qualifier I signed up at 3:00:49 and I was T54th signing up! Best of luck, and hopefully I will see you in New York.
