Need help with Boulder recommendation

Hi Everyone,

 

I'm traveling to Boulder in 2 weeks and need a recommendation for an early Saturday tee time. Here are the requirements:

 

~30 mins from CU-Boulder

Under $75 at 8am

I'd like a good mix of scenery, course design and conditioning.

 

I have checked into Fossil Trace, Riverdale Dunes and Heritage at Westmoor but FT is aerating week of and Riverdale and Westmoor is the week before. Not sure how quickly Colorado grass rebounds but I wouldn't pay rack rate in Florida a week out from aeration.

 

Looks like from previous threads a few good options are Colorado National, Buffalo Run and Heritage Todd Creek. Is there a true standout course near Boulder or are they all similar in quality?

I have friends in the area. I asked for you. So far, here is what I have heard:

Seems the consensus is Colorado Nat'l. Guess the course is Buff themed so there will be alot of CU logos around. Play well and have fun!

Omni Interlocken is a decent course with a lot of elevation changes and is very close to Boulder. Has three 9 hole courses. Omni would be my recommendation.

Colorado National is just ok in my opinion. Tends to place slow and lined with houses on certain holes.

Fossil Trace has nice views, but the course has some gimmicky holes and it can be windy.

Westmoor is just ok. Tends to be quite windy at times, but it's close to Boulder.

Riverdale Dunes is links style and challenging with very unforgiving rough.

Omni Interlocken would be the first choice. May be more than $75.

Fox Hollow is a solid second choice. May be more than 30 minutes.

Legacy Ridge isn't bad as a third choice.

Thanks to everyone for your suggestions. I ended up playing Colorado National at 7:15am for $59 with cart.

I thought it was straight forward but still challenging and interesting due to the rough and greens. Greens were rock hard but not overly fast, rough was quite long and the course overall was very green. Plenty of elevation changes for a Florida boy like myself. For someone who has never seen the Rockies before, the views were fantastic. Pace was slow at the beginning but started evening out when my group started losing balls in the rough. We ended up finishing around the 4:15 mark and the only ones on 18 throughout the hole.

Looks good OP! Hope you had a great time! I miss the area. Headed back in 2016 for my 30yr reunion.
