Spin Rates = Rollout

Ok so this may be a ridiculous question but I need to ask.

I see all these spin charts with balls having wedge spin numbers listed usually varying from about 5,000rpm to 11,000rpm.

My question is if I use a ball and know the spin what can I expect if I use a ball with more/less spin. For example, if I use a B330 RX (let's say 7,500rpm) and a short/iron bounces and lands within 5 feet of the mark what should I expect from a 10,000 or even a 5,000rpm ball.

All things being equal, more spin means more check. With more spin on a wedge, you can get it to suck back well before it's pitch mark. Descent angle plays a big factor as well. What are you looking to do, and what conditions do you generally play?

Well I was thinking of experimenting with a little less spin to get some more accuracy off the tee but did not want turn my current set up (usually within a few feet from the pitch mark) to a ball that is gonna toll out 15-20 instead of 3-5. I do not usually play too firm of conditions.

Do yourself a favor and try a sleeve of the Chrome Soft ball, and thank me later.

I'll tell you that I had the Nike RZN Black and that was usually 3-5 feet. I picked up a Nike RZN White and that was around 10-20 feet. I picked up a Callaway Chrome Soft and it was 1-3 feet and got a foot of backspin the other day. I have to say, I love that ball and just bought two dozen the other day.

The CS is certainly getting a lot of positive feedback on here, and you can certainly count me in as a convert. It will be interesting to see if the buzz equates to sales. I really hope so, I don't want to have to look for another ball in a years time. I wonder if other OEMs will get on board and do the same thing with their ball lines. The ProV has progressively got firmer over the yearz to the point where there is no discernible dfference between it and the X. Maybe titleist will soften the regular ProV and tell js all that they have again revolutionized the golf ball.
