Graphite Design Tour AD MD 8 in driver

I just picked one of these up at a good price and was thinking of trying it out in my new G30LST when it gets here. I have the DI6 in a driver now, but spin it quite a bit more than I'd like and want to try something heavier. The DI7 I have in my fairway feels great, but I am going to try something a touch heavier there as well. I have read that the MD is a slightly lower launch and spin version of the DI and the feel should be pretty similar. Any thoughts by those whom have played both?

I've played the MD in 6X, and its a very underrated shaft. It was mid/mid for me with that great Graphite Design feel.

I have an AD BB 8 in my G30 and love it. I've always preferred a higher weight driver shaft, it seems to keep my tempo smoother. The AD BB 8 feels much better and performs much better than the AD BB 6 I tried. Also much better than the AD DI 6...

Can't really compare since it has been forever since I played a DI, but I have a MD8 in a 4 wood right now. Like zwhitworth, the MD is a mid/mid shaft for me. Has that typical GDI feel and is very stable. Very nice shafts considering you can get them for cheap.

If you have it uncut, you'll want to read the trimming instructions. They have 4 inch tips (made for bore through), so tipping 1" is recommended for driver where they recommend no tipping for other Tour ADs.

Thanks everyone. It is currently untipped. I did see the tipping instructions on it and will tip it 1" before installing in my g30 adapter. Head to head, would the MD or DI spin less?
