Fake Rapture Drivers on E-bay

Recently purchased and later discovered a fake Ping Rapture Driver on e-bay.

 

3 tell tale signs to look for on fake club:

1. TFC909D shaft has a small white UST logo on shaft (real shaft does not have this logo)

2. shaft just below grip has a screen printed carbon fibre weave (actual club has real carbon fibre and thick clear coat)

3. Titanium web on crown is slightly raised (on a real driver - this web is beneath clear coat)

 

And if seller will not provide serial number - stay far, far away!

I have seen too many too good to be true deals on e-bay for the Rapture and figured there must be more to the story. Thanks for the info (pics would be helpful ). I'll stick to the BST here for a "new" Rapture.

I think you may have taken the TTIWWP picture a little too literally.

 

Boba can correct me if I am wrong, but I think he was just meaning to say that pictures are helpful in fake club cases so we can all see exactly what to look for. (Think of describing a hot chick vs. posting pictures of her.) I certainly don't think he meant to imply that the thread was literally worthless.

 

That's the way I've always taken TTIWWP emoticons anyway.

Thanks charlie. Just a FYI rkruff, there isn't an emoticon on the GWerks that says "This thread would be better with pics" or "this thread would improve dramatically with pics" or even a "Hi you haven't sufficiently supported your claim enough with words, could you please post some pictures to support your claim." IMO his claim of having a fake driver should be sported with some pictures. I could start a thread saying I have a fake Scotty Cameron with a fake COA# Z004445 & without pics, I wouldn't have very good support for my claim.
