Southwest Michigan golfers

Anyone here from the southwest part of the mitten?...kalamazoo, grand rapids, Holland, St. Joe, Muskegon, battle creek area? I really want to get out and golf with people who are better than me and enjoy the game as much as I do.

I'm just about 15 minutes north of kalamazoo. I play Heritage Glen, Thorn Apple Creek, all the local muni's, and the lower priced ones like shamrock & Ridgeview all the time.

Pm if you would like to get together and play. I just started this year but keep it usually in the high 90's so far so if you don't mind playing with a noob

Where are you guys at?

I am in Battle Creek and there is at least one other WRXer around the Kzoo area. I am always down to play, but my schedule for rest of the year is dicey because of work and kids' football. More likely we could get together in Spring.

Check out the dome in Schoolcraft in the winter.

I'm about golfed out for the year, but I'd be happy to join up in the spring.

We have a group of 10-15 golfers planning on attending the senior PGA championship. I'm wondering what suggestions you would have within 1 hour of Glen Harbor.

Think he means Benton harbor. Ritzer if you have connections (private) play dunes,, lost dunes, or Point o woods. Hawkshead and warren are solid courses. Whittaker woods is decent. Lake Michigan hills (closest to harbor shores) and Hampshire are good value courses. If you just want to get out with friends and aren't too concerned about the course then Brookwood or maybe berrien hills.

CSpackler nailed it. Add the Dunes Club to the list if you're a member anywhere. Just have your pro call and you'll get on. I really liked Angels Crossing, although that'll put you at about an hour. There are some good courses in South Bend as well, but that's pushing the hour too.

Thanks, yes I did mean Benton Harbor. It sounds like we have a few good ones to choose from. With two club pro's in our group plus the one who's playing in the seniors we should have no problem getting on a course or two.

Private clubs in order of top choice:
Dunes Club
Lost Dunes
Point O Woods

All are excellent.

If you are willing to drive 45 minutes north, Wuskowhan Players Club is another great choice for private club.

If those courses are full and you want to stay private then you should be able to get on orchard hills or signal pointe pretty cheap.

I live in GR. I play about all the local courses.
