Flightscope Issues vs Skytrack

Not sure if this is the best spot for this if it isn't please move. So our store has a Flightscope Prime unit (yes I know older) recently doing fittings I've had a lot of customers telling me that the results appearing is nothing like what they actually hit. So I decided to do a few tests and had a couple slower swingers and faster swingers hit on the machine and not one of them said that the shots appearing where anything usual of their hits. Flightscope recently upgraded us to the newest software and firmware so I don't think that's the issue. I have attached two photos of shots being hit with our Flightscope and a friends SkyTrack at the same time. Other then the green lines on the SkyTrack which was an 6 iron you can see the directional and even the distances where way off on the Flightscope and I say that they where off on the Flightscope because we were outside and we could see where his balls where going. Sometimes the SKytrack would show a hook which is what the ball did but on the Flightscope they where appearing as massive slices.

 

I'm just curious if anyone has ever ran into this issue and what they did to fix it? I have been dealing with Flightscope for about 2 months now trying to get this fixed and I just keep getting the run around and actually never received an answer to this data difference and its starting to get annoying. Just would like some feed back if anyone has had this problem.

As a Prime unit owner....I trust those numbers a lot more than I do Skytrack. If the FS was set up correctly, it should be tracking complete ball flight and not guessing anything if you are outdoors which Skytrack will not do. 95% of getting accurate information off the FS is setting it up properly and having the user hitting in the correct direction. They are not that finicky, but if it's set on indoor and not making use of the right data...you are going to get flawed numbers/results.

During my FlightScope certification class, they stated that incorrect setup is responsible for 99% of the issues that users have. Rarely is there something physically strong with the unit. I know the older units without foresight cameras are harder to align. The unit to ball measurement is very important. For accurate measurements, you must maintain the shots within a 7" circle. Get outside of that and you will start to see some questionable shots. Although you can be anywhere from 8' to 11', optimal setup from ball to unit is 10'. Also, make sure that you are inputting the correct tee surface height in the setup wizard. There is also a FlightScope user forum on Facebook where you can chat with some of the FlightScope techs and other users. Hope this helps.
