Leupold Customer Service Question

My Leupold rangefinder has a black speck when looking through the optics. From reading old reviews, it appears this is not that uncommon.

 

I have heard Leupold has the best customer service hands down. I have called twice in the past few days and have left my number both times and never got a call back. I am currently on hold and am in 28th position on hold. This seems crazy.

 

Should I email? What success have people had with them in the past?

 

Also, will they just have me send it in and send me back a new one? Thanks

I had a problem with mine (three year old model). I emailed them, they responded quickly, and asked me to ship it to him. They ended up shipping me a brand new one at no cost (the new model too).

 

Thanks for the info. I emailed them. I used to have the 3i2 and loved it. Ended up giving it to my brother which I regret. Loved the 3i2.

 

In the email I asked if I could return the 1i2 and pay the difference for the 3i2. Was worth asking. Regardless I expect to get a new 1i2.

 

Looks like email is the way to go. They did call me back a few hours after I left my number but it connected when I answered then hung up which is frequent when solicitors call.

You can probably add yourself to the long list of people in the Leupold Customer Service thread that sent in an old model and received the most recent model. I would assume that it's too much of a hassle for them to charge you the difference between a 1 and a 3... but it never hurts to ask.

I talked to a rep this morning and he mentioned that paying for the upgrade is a possibility and they will call me. I am going to overnight the rangefinder today. I will be shocked if they actually make me pay the $100 difference. We shall see.

 

I'm in the same boat as you right now. My 3i delivered to Leupold on the 19th last month. I asked if I could upgrade to the 4i2, they said no problem and it would be $100.

 

The only issue I have had thus far is that no one has touched or even acknowledged receipt of my device since mid-January. I was told to expect contact in 5 more business days. Can't wait to see what comes back to me!

The generation before. I think the GX-3i. The yardages were only two digits. I emailed them.

They said the same thing to me. I overnighted mine last week and it arrived the next morning. This was last Friday so it sounds like I need to wait a few weeks to check on it. MSRP shows the 1i2 only $100 less than the 3i2. I am interested what they will offer me. I did ship it through my company via UPS air overnight which cost $66 lol. I am hoping I can use that towards my negotiating.
