New driver advice

Hi

Looking for any advice and info that will point me in the right direction .

Playing off 13 handicap and hit the ball very straight ( most of the time ) with no real fade or draw tendencies

Just spent an hour or so on a vector launch monitor at my local range with a view to replacing my existing cobra 440 sz unlimited , which although does a good job it hits on a very high balooning flight which has virtualy no role out.

I am looking for something that is quite forgiving but that will give me a lower more powerful flight.

 

My own driver with reg 55g mid kick shaft and 10.5 deg of loft was launching the ball at an avg of 18 deg with back spin in the very high 3000's and a ball speed of apx 120mph from my swing of just over 90mph , .

 

Tried a variety of clubs , lofts and shafts from Ping, Callaway , Taylor made etc, although i have not tried any of the nike or Cobra drivers as yet.

The 10.5 deg Ping G5 with a Graffaloy Prolaunch blue 65g in reg flex performed the best returning 12deg launch angle,138mph ball speed ,backspin 2800. are these figures acceptable??

Those are very good numbers for your swing speed.....

 

Another way to lower ball flight would be to go to a high bend point shaft (like the Aldila NV, Grafalloy Prolaunch Red) and try some 9 or 9.5 degree drivers.
