Ohio WRX Outing

Ok Guys, I am proposing a WRX outing May 21 at Deer Ridge in Lexington Ohio. I have sent an email to Deer Ridge trying to lock in the date for any Members who want to come out and meet some other members. Doing my best to work on a little sponsorship for the event, though I can make no promises. If anyone want's to help with this, please feel free to PM me directly. Should be a good time. I am sending the word around and hope you all do the same. Nothing is 100% Concrete yet, but as long as Deer Ridge is on board, and we have some good participation from you guys, we should be set. Please reply here in this thread so we can get a tentative headcount. Sorry if you replied in All things Ohio or any of the other threads, but it will be so much easier for me to track everybody in one thread. It's really a beautiful course and right in the middle of Cleveland and Columbus. Hope everyone can make it out. Here are a few photos to help entice.

Nice pictures and very representative of normal conditions. For those who haven't played there , as usual the picures don't do the elevation change justice. The next to the last picture is the second shot on 10. Hit it above the hole and you can go ahead and add a couple of strokes.

 

The last one is looking back to the tee box from the green while zoomed in. Depending on how far you hit it it can be a good two clubs uphill on your second.

 

The second picture is looking back at number 1. Doesn't even come close to showing the elevation or the difficulty in hitting the fairway while still getting it down far enough for a quality shot at the green.

Oh the elevation change is nasty. Beautiful course and layout. Couple bad holes but it's awesome. Love playing there

Short answer is yes. I need some feedback. If you guys have any other Ohio or willing to travel WRX'ers, get the word out. I mean if this date isn't working, I'll get it changed. Sounds like it would be easier if we did it on a weekday. nothing is concrete yet, I am trying to work out the details with what will draw the largest crowd. I could try for a Monday around 1pm if it will get more people in. Just figured not everybody can take off work. Shoot some ideas out and we can work together so I can coordinate with the course and get this nailed down.

I could likely make that May 21 date work unless something comes up. Weekdays wouldn't work for me regardless. But my wife works on May 21 so it sounds like it would work easily for me.

Ok I didn't plan to. I still have to help get kids up and moving around. It's only a little over half hour for me but I will do my best to get it maybe 10-11ish if that works?

Course opened Monday. $25 for 18 with a cart for the time being. Typical post winter conditions but I am hoping all of the courses come roaring back with this nice weather we have scheduled for the next week.

I played Ashland Golf Club Monday. Pro called and said they were opening at noon. Took a "personal half day" $20 for 18 and a cart.

Come down to Ashland and we will get a round in this weekend. It's only 20 min drive for you. That is unless my wife has me putting in our new flooring in the bathroom. DUM DUM DUM! (dramatic movie sound effect)

I'd love to but this weekend is locked up for me...we're having new hardwood floors installed throughout the majority of our house so I've got to move all of our furniture out...it'll be nice when it's done but I really am not looking forward to the next week and half

Are we living the same life? my flooring comes in tomorrow. I am sure I'll be doing it all weekend as well. Just 3 rooms. But almost over now. Let me know when works for you. We will get together sometime soon. Nothing but nice weather right around the corner. Supposed to rain for the next 5 days anyway I see
