Bushnell V4 Slope vs Leupold GX-4i2

Recommended Posts

Going to upgrade my Bushnell V3 to a rangefinder with slope. Because of size and features, I've narrowed it down to the two listed in the title. The noticeable differences include 6x magnification (not sure if this is an advantage or something that makes it harder to hold view steady) in the Leupold as well as an OLED readout, which seems like a great feature.

Although the V4 hasn't been released yet, is anyone with more experience able to advise me on one vs the other? I'm currently leaning towards the Leupold.

I have the leupold 4 i love it, the 6x magnification is great, great size, it does shoot through rain or sprinklers as some others do not, it also makes it easier to shoot at dusk when the sun is going down.

I caddy. Every time some one hands me a bushnell at some point I get a false reading. I never get this with my Leopold.

A false reading? Picking up something in he background or the yardage is incorrect?

I own a Leupold Gx-4i. My buddy has a Bushnell Tour V3.

The Leupold is usually gonna be a little more expensive but have better build quality (aluminum vs plastic).

However, they're both great devices and perform really well. Both companies are solid and have storied history.

You can't go wrong with either.

I have the Leupold Gx4i2 and it performs well in misty/foggy conditions and low light conditions. It is very responsive with a sturdy build. I would highly recommend the Leupold. It is best to test for yourself to see what works for you.

Thanks for the replies. I actually ended up purchasing both and the Leupold is much much more reliable than the V4 I received. The V4 was jolting on trees in the background and gave me more misreads than correct distances. I sent back the V4 and purchased a Tour X to compare to the Leupold. I love the size, build and display of the Leupold but miss the jolt feature and wish it had the option to just display the closest distance measured during a scan. It's annoying to see the display continually jumping a few tenths of a yard while I'm trying to read the distance. It's great when it locks onto the prisms, but that usually takes more time aiming than it's worth.

But just to reiterate to those wondering, the Leupold is fantastic. The size and build quality are way better than any Bushnell I've used. I'll probably end up keeping it, but I want to make sure to compare all possible options before settling on the rangefinder that I'll have for a long time to come.

Early in hand photos of the new GT2 models t the truck.  As soon as they show up on the range in player's bags we'll get some better from the top photos and hopefully some comparison photos against the last model.
