Removing Weight from Putter Head (Method 001 Tungsten Plugs)

I know this is a bit against trend, but I would like to remove around 10 grams of weight from the head of my Nike Method 001.

 

One option that I thought of was to remove the tungsten plugs and either keep them out entirely (don't know how much they weigh yet) or drill out part of the plugs and put them back or put some other material in the ports to get the weight right.

 

Does anyone know if the tungsten plugs are epoxied in and can be removed with heat? Any other info on them?

 

Certainly opening to other suggestions of how to remove weight as well. Thanks in advance!

Removing the tungsten will be difficult and will remove more than 10 grams in my opinion.

 

Your best bet is porting the sole. Like some players do with a wedge. Anyone with a drill press could do it pretty easily. I've done it myself when I had a drill press.

I am looking to drop the putter down from it's stock 350 to 330

 

I have always gotten along better at the headweight, and love the look of the 001 that can be had for cheap.

 

A builder I know was messing around with porting on an older putter and he found that there just isn't enough material to lose much more than a few grams porting a putter.
