if a ball flight is very high and is literally dropping down in the air (this is very similar to hitting against a strong wind) rather than penetrating through in the air, it obviously takes off a lot of distance.

a question i'd like to ask is 1) why does this happen?
2)does it require a stiffer shaft to lower down the ball trajectory?
3) but will it also change the ball flight of literally dropping down effect from the air ?

1) Normally it is due to a combination of too high a launch angle and too much spin on the ball.

2) Not always. A stiff shaft will help as it will not impart so much dynamic loft at impact but a shaft of the same flex with a higher kickpoint, such as an Aldila NV, will also give you a lower ball flight. Also the COG of the club has an effect on lauch angel and spin too.

3) Depends. If you are talking about your driver and you are using a driver than has too much loft and too low a COG for you it will not matter what shaft changes you make, the ball will still balloon and drop short.

If u have a slow swing speed then the result can be that u don't have enough backspin and the ball will fall from the sky :shok:. If that is the case try balls with more spin, whippier shafts and so on. If your swing is that slow don't be scared to try women's flex shafts.
