Okay, how about finishing 2nd 6 straight times.......Didn't matter what I shot, shot -6 for 36 holes one year, course was playing long.......Old lefty that looked like he was swinging in slow motion beat me, at -9. He's won over 20 club championships at a few different courses.......The guy is good, still beats his age several times a WEEK!!........He's 75 now......LOL

Played in my first Club Championship this year. 2nd flight off white tees with 7 handicap. Had no expectations first round. Ended up scoring well with a good wedge, putter, and good bounces off of about about 5 different trees. Chipped in for par on 18 to tie my personal best score 72 to be in the lead after day one.

Second day I could feel the nerves a bit being in this new situation. Was 5 over after nine. Wedge and putter cooled off. Started playing better on the back nine and was even on the back going into 18. Didn't know the scoreboard at the time but I was tied with one guy and another was 2 behind. 18 is very uncomfortable driving hole...dogleg left with water left and water right, wind against and off the left. First guy bombs is down the fairway makes par. I tried to hit the fairway with 4 hybrid but terrible swing (indecisive about target,nerves?) Came out of shot and hit into water on right. Took drop in rough and made double. The guy I was tied with hit in water left and also made double. So we all tied at 149. I got 3rd place gross due to bogey on playoff hole. (previosly played #1 handicap hole.)

The guy who was 1st place had the par on 18. Ironically he had a double hit chip plus penalty on #4 (tc chen) then holed 25 footer for a 6. He was making putts from all over that day. He actually tallied the total footage made...it was huge.

Anyhow it was a new experience...I didn't feel I deserved to win because I know I could have done better especially on the final hole. That wasn't the only shot I blocked right that weekend. Would have enjoyed it more if it wasn't 100 degrees out.
