divot tool slot in scotty cameron head cover q?

has anyone made a similar slit ?

after losing my 3rd divot tool (falling out of my pockets) I have decided to try and cut two slits into my putter's head cover (taylormade rossa blade) and use it as my place for my divot tool, has anyone done this? I heard that the divot tool in the scotty cameron always falls out, this true?


I know this isn't really the most important of topics but im thinking of doing it out of boredom but also tired of losing divot tools (hahaha) thnx

Hmmmm, not sure I would reccomend that. First, lot's of complaints from Scotty users that the divor tool falls out of the headcover all the time. Second, cutting a slit without sewing a seam around the slit could cause the cut to keep enlarging and you would end up with a giant rip in your headcover. At a minimum, you're going to have fabric strings hanging out all the time.

 

Why not just buy an AM&E cover with the pocket in the side if you are certain that you want to carry your divot tool that way. Better yet, stick it in your pocket.

Would rather put it in the pocket then to worry if your divot tool is still there and furthermore if you play in Malaysia, your SC putter cover might get stolen after your round of golf.

The covers for the Odyssey XG series putters have a little pocket with a velcro closure. Of course it has a poker chip ball marker in it and not a divot tool, but a divot tool would fit.

 

If its that big of a deal, just sew a pocket on to the one you have. Or, if you are going to cut holes in it anyway, do that and just tie your divot tool to the cover.

not trying to thread jack, but if you put the divot tool in upside down, it doesnt fall out

I use the Scotty divot tool that clips to your pocket. Always handy when I need it and I don't have to worry about it falling out.
