Tour stage X-blade 909 and Limited Users...

I'm looking at the Tourstage 909MBs vs the Limited, which are a CB down to the 8i, then the 9i and PW are blades. I've had a quick look through this forum, but I haven't found a thread that really answers my question.

Does anyone play either of these sets, and what are they like? I've been hitting the Limited in a local shop, and really like them, but I would like a bit more bladey goodness, say down to the 6i or 5i. That said, I really love the combined feel and forgiveness of the 5i and 4i.

So if users of either set have any feedback, I would be grateful to hear it.

I've been testing everything from Tourstage and I'm of the opinion that you can't go wrong with it. Just beautiful stuff.

That's pretty much my opinion on it as well, but should I go CB with a little MB, or full MB, that is my dilemma. The Limited set I can buy quickly, whereas if I go online for the MB, I have a bit of a search on, and the hassle of the auction. That's a point in favour of the Limited option, but the MBs feel so nice I would at least like them down to the 6i....

That said, it's mostly a mental/visual block for me I think. The idea behind the combo makes sense as the MC should offer a hair more help while maintaining feedback and control. The CB should offer help with launch.

Just to clarify, you don't like the transition in the Limited set from the blade 9i to the 8i and downwards? I really like the PW and 9i blade, and I find the 4i~5i MC (I think it's a muscle cavity) nice to hit, but I would like blades down to the 6i, maybe even the 5i. That's why I looking at the 909 MBs as well, but the ones I have found are priced higher.

The MCs are the muscle cavity, 6-8i. The CBs are the cavity back 4 and 5i. Regardless, the shape, size, and offset as you transition between head types is a bit much IMO. I'd have preferred the MB through the 7i, and then MC 5 and 6. I don't play a 4i. Now, that said, this setup is very trick and makes a lot of sense. It is a bit of a mishmash though.

Ah, got it, thanks. I'll take a closer look at the whole set I've found in the local second hand golf shop. I've only hit the PW, 9i, and 4i, so I haven't looked that closely at the transition between clubs. But I will now.
