2005 Fireform driver

Recommended Posts

Acquired this (2005?) club with a set of W/S Ci7 irons recently. I've never heard of this brand before and suspect it's either a copy or an el cheapo make.

The full description is 10.5* Fireform 5000 HYPER STEEL 300cc and on the club face is the word MARAGING. The shaft is a Firestorm T.C.T. Titanium Controlled Tip 100% Carbon Graphite. The shaft is shorter than any of my other drivers and has a "Velvet" brand grip.

It's not a bad looking club and I am a fan of small heads - my other two main drivers are 400cc and 425cc. Anyhoo, I took it over to the driving range this morning with my two other drivers to compare and the results were not what I expected. Firstly distance was on a par with the others, and secondly and most interesting was it didn't produce my usual draw/hook, went absolutely dead straight and centre down the range - not overly high either - just nice. It won't displace my W/S driver anytime soon but I would be happy to keep it handy. Does anyone have one? had one? know anything about them?. If it's a copy, it's a damn good copy. Cheers & Merry Christmas

I've never heard of it Nomad, but with only a 300 cc head I'd place that at more of a circa 2000 club than 2005. Glad you've found something that works so well! I wonder if it's a clone of the old Taylormade Firesole driver?

My problem is LOFT -- Lack of friggin' talent

So.. .distance was the same as your other drivers, but it went dead straight....and you'd rather play what you have in your bag.

Send it to me....something always dead center off the tee w/out distance loss.....

smh

Yes. Fireform goes straight, W/S has a small fade, TM tends to draw/hook. I favour a fade - I should carry all 3 drivers.

The Fireform has a short shaft which probably helps, I cut an Adams driver from 46"to 44" and noticed this as well but couldn't stand the tinny sound.

Cobra King Hyper Steel #7 wood

BB Heavenwood # 9 wood

Lead tape works wonders. :ok:

The Adams is a lightweight club, could probably use some lead tape or a heavier shaft anyway. Shorter shaft, smaller arc, more club speed at impact, works for me :) I'm selling the Adams driver & 3 wood anyway, I have too many clubs and a lot of those are persimmon or laminated woods, where do we begin.

Similar but the Firesole is only 250cc and YOM about 1999 so I would guess the Fireform is about 5 yrs later. Amazing to track club head sizes thru the last 20 yrs. My current #4 wood is more than twice the size of my #1 wood from 1972.

Early in hand photos of the new GT2 models t the truck.  As soon as they show up on the range in player's bags we'll get some better from the top photos and hopefully some comparison photos against the last model.
