Good afternoon WRXers.

I picked up almost 2 complete sets today, and I was hoping you gentleman might be able to give me some info. I'm looking for any info on material, production dates, and hopefully tip size, in case I get the urge to reshaft.

The first set is a set of Burke Bert Yanchey Tournament Reg. 358 2-9. These were sold in a Knight bag as a lot and included the Driver, 3 & 4 wood, a set of Wilson Turfrider Pw & Sw, and a MacGregor 317S putter. These are labeled with a True Temper Step Down band. Also had a handful of like new Attack Life Spin X-outs lol.

The second set are Kroydon Bob Rosburg Star Flite 3-9 with a GC-1 putter. The Kroydon are fitted with Centura by TT shafts.

What are you planning on doing with them? What did you have to give for them?

And...for shafts....I would suggest (as a friendly, New Year's suggestion) you invest in a fairly good micrometer, or vernier caliper, where you can measure shafts.

I do have a caliper, but unfortunately it is digital and needs a battery. I was hoping somebody might know off the top of their head about the tip size, and I was hoping I wouldnt have to split them apart (or cut a ferule off.)

I gave nothing for them. Less than $20 for everything, including the bag. The bag will be used for storage of other sets. The irons will be played, as I play everything I own. I did notice though that both sets are awfully flat feeling in the lie department.

Stu, I figured if anyone knew, it'd be you. Do you have any guess as to when these may have came out, so that maybe I can search for catalogs during that period?

The Kroydens I think would be from the 60s--- The only Burke Irons I know anything at all about were the Burke labeled Punchirons and those were late 50s early 60s

Both sets, I would guess the early to mid 1960's.

Clubs look like they're in pretty nice shape, should clean up nicely.

Wriggles, they aren't bad. The Kroydon have a little face rust, but the grooves are still good. The Burkes, minus the woods, look like they were just put up in the 80s and never touched again. They have some white oxidation but I'm certain that'll polish right up. I'll probably give the heads a cleaning this afternoon.
