2014 Taylormade MB Irons

First off, thanks for any help people can pass along......

So, im working on building a set of 2014 TaylorMade TP MB irons. Im trying to get the swingweight just right but need to find the standard raw weight of the heads and havent been able to locate it online. The reason im not just weighing my heads is because the swingweight comes out really high with standard specs and X seven shafts in them. Bought these on BST so wondering if they are heavier than standard for this model.

Does anyone know where I can find this info? Should I just call TM?

Thanks

What are the playing lengths with your X7s? It takes 9g of shaft weight to affect swing weight by 1 point, so unless you're moving from something like Modus 105 to X7, the high swing weight is a result of some other factor.

Callaway Fusion 9º •• Matrix 75M4 X
TM 2016 M2 3HL 16.5º •• Aldila NV 2KXV Orange 65X
Callaway Apex 20º •• PX Evenflow Black 80HY X
Adams CMB 24º–46º •• DG TI S400
TM MG 50º •• PX LZ 5.5
TM MG 54º •• DG S200
Mizuno T20 60º/06º •• DG S400

TM use "bullet" weights in the bottoms of the hosel bore to weight their heads. I had a set of PSI Toir heads that were almost 8g heavier than I would have expected or needed so I took the bullet weights out and then used normal tip weights to get to the swing weight I wanted.....

How did you take them out?

Heated the hosel with a torch until the epoxy breaks down (usually get a small, puff is whitish smoke when that happens) then hanged them against a tamping plate. If you search in the club making form for bullet weights I think there is a thread on them.

I have a set w/ DGS-300 @ +1/2". I won't have a chance to check the weights on each until Thur night, but I will and edit this post.

They came std with KBS Tours, so you can get in the neighborhood by 'reverse engineering' knowing the shaft length, weight, finished club length, and grip weight.

A 6 iron with a stiff KBS Tour (38" and 120 g) at std length (37.75") with a Stock grip (52 g) is listed at D3. This would put the 6 iron head at +/- 263 grams.

It is an estimate, but it should be in the ball park.

Taylormade Sim2 10.5° (turned down to 9°) - Tensei White 60 stiff

Ping G400 3 and 5 Woods - Diamana D+ Limited 70 stiff

Ping G400 22° Hybrid - Diamana D+ 90 Stiff

Ping i200 5-UW - Modus Tour 105 stiff

Vokey SM4 54° and 58° - DGS-300

I dont know anything about the weight, but I do know that they are fantastic irons and highly underrated.
