Need help and Feedback

Guys/Gals,

We are looking at creating an online GameTracker. We know that there are millions of them out there but, we want to create one that is developed by this community for use by it. i dont know about the technical stuff but as far as keeping stats goes i think it would be sweet if you could find a way to include in the fairways hit, a fairways missed right/left option too....then of course all of your typical stat options as well.

 

if this gets done i'm for sure going to use it.

The Ability to track both 9 and 18 holes would be useful, especially to a beginner like myself that only gets time to play 9 most weeks.

I'm not sure what most of these programs are like, but on my score cards I like making a note when I get a great drive or great approach or great chip or great putt.

 

Just knowing you hit the fairway doesn't tell you you hit a good drive and hit the fairway. Or just making 2 putts doesn't tell you one of them was a 20 footer that was 1 inch short. Maybe like little check boxes that you could compare how often you are able to mark these any given round.

A gametracker would be a great addition to the site. I currently use golf.com and it allows me to have an "official" handicap. I am a handicap chair for my group, but would love to have a function like that on this site. I have a lot of background on how the golf.com's handicap tracker works, so if you need any info or any ideas let me know.

I currently use a home grown web application that I developed to track my scores based on the following criteria.

• Strokes
  
• Drive Distance
  
• Fairway Hit - Split into Left, Center, Right
  • Left
    
  • Center
    
  • Right
    

  [*]Green Hit - split into left, center, right

  • Left
    
  • Center
    
  • Right
    

  [*]Flag position

  [*]Sand Save

  [*]Bunkers

  [*]Fairway Miss - Split into Left, Center, Right

  • Right
    

  [*]Green Miss - Split into Left, Center, Right

The information is then average into stats for the hole, course and overall. This way I can analyze my play on a particular hole, course or my overall game over time.

 

I also calculate my handicap based on the tees that I play and the course information for the front and back 9.
