vacaton with family Ft Lauderdale area

Heading down with the family in late July and will sneak out for a round or two. I'm looking for

suggestions for something reasonable and not terribly difficult (high 80s hacker/

The three nicest public courses around Ft. Lauderdale are Plantation Preserve and Jacaranda in Plantation and Deer Creek in Deerfield Beach.

This is very true. Not sure about their pricing though - they're certainly very pricey in the Winter.

 

Palm Aire has decent rates and is in pretty good condition most of the time.

 

Haven't played it in a few years but supposedly Country Club of Coral Springs had a lot of work done and is in great condition.

 

Inverrary (East) used to host a PGA Tour event (Jackie Gleason Classic) and is usually in decent shape.

 

P.A., CCoCS and Inverrary can be played mid-week for around $40 with cart.

 

Carolina Club is pretty good too but they're usually a bit more expensive than most,,,,,, and there's a fair bit of water in play there as well,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Hey thanks guys. I just checked golfnow for this Wednesday and rates are $30 with cart all day long on the Jacaranda east course. West course is $60 on their web site and $80 on golfnow for some reason. A quick check of the course description looks like playing the middle mens tees on the East course would be the most enjoyable option for a hacker like myself. I assume rates in late July would be comparable. At $30/ and $60 round I will try to sneak out and try both:)

I think those $30 rates are with the premier card which costs $300. You can try canamgolf.com and get better prices

I like Jacaranda a lot.

 

IIRC the West is longer but the East is more interesting and, as the rates suggest, the better course.

I'm sure you guys would know better than I, but I don't see anything other than "online rate". I even went to the Continue to Book screen and there are no additional charges except a few $ for tax and convenience fee. What am I missing? Thanks for your help gents.

no, it's definitely not. you do not need a Premier Card for the Wednesday tee times.

Rolling Hills was the caddyshack course. It was sold and rebuilt as Grande Oaks.

So I didn;t bring my clubs as I thought i'd just rent, I see prime time 7:00 a.,m. tee times for $20 on golfnow and called the course to check the course condition and see if they had punched/aerated the greens lately. I asked how much rental clubs would be and they told me $50.. Darn, that turned a great couple of rounds of inexpensive golf into not so great a deal.

you want cheap golf, check out Orangebrook GC in Hollywood. $23 for the rental set and even cheaper to play 18.
