Need to update the bag

Callaway FT-5 Driver

Callaway Razr Fit 3 wood (15deg)

Callaway Razr Tour 3 Hybrid (21deg)

TaylorMade Tour Burner 4-SW Irons

Cleveland CG15 50 degree gap wedge

Titleist Vokey SM5 M-grind 60 degree lob wedge (8 degree bounce)

TaylorMade Spider Si putter

 

Driver and irons are roughly 10 years old, looking to start there in terms of upgrades. Hybrid, 3wood and gap wedge are all more recent as well as the Vokey which was a wedge works gift last year. I'm not sure about the vokey though in terms of my need for a 60 degree wedge, thinking I might be better off with a 58.

 

In any case, I'm looking for suggestions on where to begin, and how to not potentially break the bank. I'm about a 15 handicap, and getting better. I demo'd a few drivers with a trackman monitor and the new GBB Epic produced the best numbers, just not sure I'm ready to drop $500 on a new stick.

 

Where would you start? Any advice is appreciated!!!

I'd start at the driver, it's where you will see the biggest leap in performance

I'd start with woods, you can always find great deals on bst to save some coin vs buying new.

Callaway Epic is driver is fantastic. I bought a Fusion to do battle but the Epic is refusing to give the Fusion an opening.

I may go ahead and pull the trigger on the Epic. I demo'd the club with the 9 degree loft and the Fujikura Pro 62 shaft and hit it well. Do you guys feel comfortable buying clubs online from places like Golf Galaxy or is buying in person from either a traditional retail store, or more of a club-fitting style place a better approach?

 

Also thinking that when it comes time to upgrade irons & wedges, I may need to actually do a club fitting. Any recommendations on best way to go about getting fitted and making a purchase without breaking the bank?

I always buy online. Check eBay you may be able to save a few extra bucks

It doesn't hurt to ask your local golf course shop too. They can usually beat the retail stores prices. My local pro said he could do the Callaway Epic for $400. About what ebay is without having to wait for it to ship.

Anything from 2015 release should serve you right in coin department and performance wise, should have some improvement
