Titleist 704 CB or Mizuno MP-30

What clubs would you buy. I like them both. I find the titleist a little more forgiving but also like the size of the mizuno's which seem smaller. I am going to switch from my tommy armour evo's. I have heard that the metal in Titleist is softer and they have to have their lies and lofts checked fairly often. I have also heard that the Mizuno's mark up easily. What do you think?

Yeah the titleist will be a bit more forgiving cause they are alot newer than the mp30 which have been around for at least 3 years but I would buy the Mizuno, but I thought that the mizuno's would be softer as the are a mild 1025 forged steel, where only the 600 series in the titleist are, the 700 and 800 are a forged stainless steel, which should be harder.

If you are prioritizing forgivness, then the Titleist's. If you want the better iron in all other catagories, then MP-30's.

The Mizuno's will play well but you are right on about the nicking. My mp-60s look well worn in after only a couple of rounds.

I have hit both, and yes the 704's are more forgiving, but the MP-30's are much more solid IMO. The 30's did have a lower ball flight, but for both being a more 'players' cavity (the 704's are pushing it in that category), the Mizuno's have always had a better feel to them.

 

I say go with what you are most confident with. A good shot always starts with a posotive thought/sight before you even start your swing.

If your looking for forged, by the Mizunos. The 704s don't feel any softer than the 762s they replaced. They play fine but don't feel very forged.

Thanks for your imput. Tough decision. Might just wait a year and get the mp60 when they come down in price, although I want new clubs now. I would hate to wait a year.
