FedEx smartpost

Has anyone else had any experience with using fedex smartpost? I recently bought a club from a user on here and he shipped smartpost. And obviously around the holiday season mail will be delayed but I have noticed they did a horrible job updating status of the package. I’m looking at 1.5-2 weeks to receive my item with one day of the mail not moving. Not so worried about getting it right now, more or less would like to know where the package is. I would suggest not using this unless this is just out of the ordinary and I just had one bad experience.

Smartpost, essentially, means it will go between FedEx Ground/ Home Delivery hubs, then to the Post Office, and then to you.

 

It’s a really inexpensive way to ship packages but it does take a bit of time.

 

The tracking information issue might just be a minor bug in the system or human error, as much as I would like to say otherwise and that it works flawlessly.

I figured the inexpensive. And yeah it sounds great with a great name, just what I’ve noticed so far not the most effective. And the tracking is what really threw me

Any tracking involving USPS goes like this:

Lol yes and add in the fact they need to get handed a box from another carrier and it’s real bad. My box sat in Clinton PA for about 72 hours then made it another 30 minutes away. Sweet

SmartPost takes forever! But its necessary when shipping drivers as UPS and Fedex charge crazy amounts to ship boxes longer than 48" for some reason???

I've noticed how ineffective it can be. I am waiting for a package that was shipped smartpost, I have checked the tracking a couple of times. It has bounced around the St. Paul area twice now, and is scheduled for delivery this coming Friday (December 1st). I live 70 miles south of St. Paul.

 

I understand it's a cheaper option, but man, the fact that is seems to zig zag across the Twin Cities area then head south just doesn't seem that cost effective.

My package went from being estimated at a week and a half to no delivery date available. It’s about an hour away from me. I will be willing from now on to pay extra to not shut smartpost.

I live in the Chicago burbs. When I accidentally chose this option to get a shipment, it would get sent a few miles from my house, then the USPS office in Wisconsin, then back to my house. Why?

Because it is the least efficient way to shop anything ever.
