Monday Qualifier for LPGA Texas Shootout

Will be at my home course on Monday, April 30th. Cool!

 

The wife and I will be there to watch the ladies. Will really be interesting to see what tees they play and where they hit it on our course.

I would assume free admission but don't know for sure.

 

The day before the LPGA qualifier, we have a State Mid-am qualifier and then on May 10th we have a men's US Open local qualifier.

Gotta believe it will be free with no ropes.

If you are a member...you should volunteer....some gals will be looking for a loop....especially a free loop with course knowledge...it would be fun...you'd have a ball...there are some retired LPGA pros playing.

BUT

Don't expect to see great golf...huge difference in talent of the Monday qualifiers and the top tier LPGA pros.

Thanks for the link. I would love to loop for one of them but I would probably last maybe 3 holes before my 67 year old arthritic knees gave out on me :)

 

Not expecting LPGA caliber golf for sure. I have seen a few girls playing practice rounds this past week. One girl played behind our group on Thursday and looked pretty good from what I was seeing. She was playing the same tees we were playing at about 6600 and looked liked like her drives were in the 240-250 range pretty consistently. Don't have a clue who she was.

Yes.....many of the gals can hit it 240-250 yards....where you'll see the most difference of the Monday qualifiers are sloppy short games compared to the top tier LPGA who are good scramblers.

Our fairways are in good shape and we have really good bent grass greens that are on the smallish side. But around the greens they will not only have tight lies to deal with but more than a few "bare" and "thin" lies.
