Gaming Consoles

I'm looking to purchase a gaming console in the near future. I currently have a PS3 just collecting dust. What would be the best console for playing a few basic games like the new Maddens, F1, and Forza. First person shooters aren't my thing. What size storage would be needed for such use. Obviously going with one of the Xbox models due to Forza only being available on XBox. I also do not have a internet connection at my house, is this required for basic setup? Please help and old gamer out. Thanks.

For most/if not all systems of today, an internet connection is required. While they can be used with out it, it is a bit of a nuisance and overall really takes away from the experience. I would recommend the 1TB PS4 Pro. It's what I have an it's 4k capabilities produce a stunning picture. It runs almost as if it is a computer. I play Gran Tourismo and it allows me to get my racing fix.

PS4 Pro for sure. Running true 4k games like GT Sport look so good if you have a 4k TV. I dont have any hot laps from F1 2017 saved but it looks really good on PS4 Pro too.

Also worthy to point out Gran Turismo Sport is heavily on line based, There is stuff you can do off line arcade mode and about 115 campaign races even more campaign challenges but still heavily online dependant.

Consoles usually ship with out of date software so at some point yeah you are probably going to want to hook it up to the internet and update the console and/or many of the games you have. I have never tried it but maybe there is a way you can download console firmware to a USB and then update it off line?

If you want Forza you need an Xbox. But without internet, it will be a paperweight. You simply can't use these systems anymore without an active internet connection.

I picked up a PS4 over Black Friday last year after having a PS3 since it came out. Love it. Super fast, its how we get Netflix/Amazon Video. Although upgrading our Wifi recently helped that as well.

But honestly I'm not sure you can even use it without an internet connection. It is constantly updating/upgarding/patching the PS operating system - as well as game software. Dont think you'd even be able to use it without a connection of some kind.
