Great course. Fantastic greens. Dye course that has a lot of tricky views... Just an FYI, unaccompanied guest fee can be quite high. May require a forcaddie. Hole number 2 is a long par 3 through a shoot of trees and over water. Great hole. Clubhouse is beautiful.

It’s a good good course. Tell them to call Nona and play a double header same day. That's a good day of golfing if there ever is one in orlando.

Not sure if both 9s are open right now, but if they are they have both been recently punched.

If you're paying a hefty guest fee that would be important to know.

Nice course, I prefer Lake Nona but definitely agree with the AM/PM rotation, which I do with a buddy over there from time to time.

 

Isleworth is actually an Arnold Palmer design that Steve Smyers redid a number of years ago. No Pete Dye influence on the course.

On the first tee, don't climb on the bull and pretend like you're riding it. They didn't like it when I did.

 

Also, try to avoid it during the PGA Show in January. It turns into muni-week out there and it will take at least 4 hours or more to play.

Its a nice course and one of the hardest courses to even get onto in Central Florida besides Lake Nona and Orlando CC, and Bay Hill (can be played if you pay a room rate for the night as a resort guest). You need to know a member to play, or be a member of a high profile private club and have your club call for you.

 

It's expensive. Upwards of $200 per person IIRC as a guest.

 

Bay Hill is undergoing renovations right now so it was like $70 for BH members to play it this summer. That was a damn good deal.

 

Also keep in mind everything in Central FL is punched with 1/2" holes right now and over-sand.

 

Islesworth has lots of high profile and celebrity homeowners and players there, you may get lucky and see someone out there.

I played there ten years ago. No tee times. Very informal. Nice but not spectacular.

Absolutely love this place -- I've been lucky enough to get to play it a few times a year as my father in-law is a member. The greens are what make the course as hard as it is. they can be lightning fast and you can find yourself putting back and forth across them if you hit it slightly too hard. i'm not ashamed to admit I've taken a 10 during a tournament where they place all the pins in crazy spots on crowns.

 

I believe guest fee is up around $250 or so.

 

The number one thing I've been told when i started getting to play there was -- avoid any fanboy moments. It's not uncommon to see a couple tour pros, current, or former pro athletes hanging out in the club house, on the range, or on the course. For most of them, this is their home, they want to be treated like anyone else. No trying to sneak photos.
