MP-60's Need Help Removing Rust

Some small spots of Rust on the face

I just purchased a used set of Mizuno MP-60's. The look like no more than 10 balls have been hit with them. However some small spots of rust were on the the face of 5 of the clubs when I purchased them...how can I safely remove the rust?

i'm not positive on this, but i think i read somewhere one time If you buy a bottle of WD-40 and spray some on the face, wait a minute or two and rub it off, i think that would remove most of the rust if not all of it. Again, i'm not positive, but i dont think the wd40 will hurt the finish. Just be careful

Try a little bit of naval jelly - buy it at the hardware store - rub it in - try rubbing it with a soft cloth then rinse in water. WD40 may also do the trick since there is not allot of rust.

DW40 Did the trick, I let it stand in the grooves for 2 minutes, used a cloth and my finger-nail.

thats great. i'm glad you got rid of that stuff. I was going to reccomend you let is sit for atleast 3-4 minutes, but seems like you took care of it. thats good.

I've played my Mizuno MP33's/MP32's for a while and have had the same problem. I'm pretty meticulous about my clubs and clean them after just about every round and I think I've got something that might work better than WD40.

 

It's called "The Club Eraser/Polisher". It's a metal type eraser compound that will take out the rust on your clubs and keep the spin and bite on your shots. The WD40 you're using might do the opposite, especially if it gets caught in the grooves. Cosmetically, it will take care of the rust but you might sacrifice some performance. In this game we need all the advantages we can get!!
